PM Skrueteknik's premises in Østbirk, Denmark sit where industry meets farmland: A gravel yard, open fields behind, a tree line on the horizon, and a blue industrial hall next door.
Most buildings in a setting like this are made to work, not to be looked at. Sheet metal, a door, a sign. That is fine, until you remember that a business building is also where people arrive every morning.
PM Skrueteknik's long, low, single-story building is clad in vertical brown slats from end to end, past white-framed windows and a white door. It looks less like a unit on an estate and more like a place someone cares about.

The brown on this building

This is not a simple box. The roof slopes, the gable rises to a point, and the cladding follows all of it: The slats run up into the gable and are cut along the angle of the roof edge. Around the windows, dark gray metal flashing frames each opening, and the slats stop against it.
That is where Aluwood earns its place on a commercial building. The panels can be cut to fit the project, so the awkward angles end up looking deliberate. The face is thermally treated Nordic pine that resists rot, fungus and insects, on an aluminum backing that keeps every slat straight. And a quicker, simpler install means fewer billable hours on site.

The cladding was going up in September 2024. We filmed it in April 2025, after the winter. In the low evening sun, every slat throws a thin shadow across the next, and the long wall glows above the green lawn. Up close, you see real grain and the odd knot — wood, not a print of it.
There is nothing to maintain. Keeping the brown as it is takes a coat of oil once a year; leave it, and it weathers to silver-gray in its own time. Next to the blue hall, it is the building your eye goes to.
If your workshop or office is a plain box, the roofline may be the best place to see what Aluwood can do. Order a sample, or ask an Aluwood advisor to help you plan the project.

Workshops, offices, houses and garden walls. Aluwood gives them the warmth of wood, without putting upkeep on anyone's to-do list.
