Martin's plot is in a new-build neighborhood in Denmark: Fresh brick houses with tiled roofs, young hedges, a street still settling in. On it stands a small, flat-roofed garden shed. At the start of the film, it is a bare frame wrapped in membrane, with a grid of battens and a dark roof edge.
A shed like that is easy to treat as an afterthought. It goes up last, gets whatever cladding is left in the budget, and ends up as the one thing in a new garden that still looks temporary.
Martin's shed got the same cladding as a facade.

A shed stands outside all year, and nobody looks after it. That is exactly the job Aluwood is made for. The slats are thermally treated Nordic pine, which resists rot, fungus and insects, and an aluminum backing keeps them straight, so they don't warp or sag with the seasons. There is no yearly staining: Oil it once a year if you want to keep the brown, or let it weather to a soft silver-gray.
A local carpentry firm did the fitting, and the film shows every step. A dark base profile along the bottom, a corner profile checked with a spirit level, then the panels: Brown slats seated in dark metal rails, cut to length with a track saw and screwed to the battens. At around 7.5 kg a panel, they are easy to lift into place.

Halfway through, one side is warm wood and the other is still bare battens. By the end, two walls meet at a slim dark metal corner profile, and the shed sits next to the brick houses as if it had been planned from the start.
That is the quiet win of a small project. A shed is something you walk past every day, so it may as well be something you like looking at.
If you have a shed, an annex or a garage that still looks unfinished, it might be the easiest place to start. Order a sample and hold it against your own walls.

A garden shed is one way to start. Aluwood clads facades, annexes, garages and garden walls the same way.
