That depends on your wall type. Maybe it is appropriate to additionally use plugs. In general we recommend screws in the colour of the felt in (minimum) 33mm lengths.
We recommend you to install the panels in extension of each other. Or you can also install them in the middle of the wall, both versions look very nice.
The installation is possible on nearly every surface, even on brick walls and concrete.
No – it is the perfect DIY project for everyone. If you need help, you can always ask your local carpenter. It should be very easy for them.
Yes – a lot of our customers already did that.

Yes you can use glue (but please have in mind that you might want to move one day).
You best cut a whole into the Akupanels and maybe extract the socket end of the panel wall.
You can easily cut the panels on your own with any saw. For the felt you can use a knife.
So just try it, it is very easy!
If the panels are mainly used for visual purposes, it is possible to attach them directly to the wall. For this, we recommend the use of (black) screws, which are then drilled directly through the felt into the wall or also glued to the wall with mounting glue.
To achieve sound class A, we recommend the mounting on 45mm thick battens. The resulting gap is then lined with mineral wool (we recommend Isover or Rockwool).

We have developed our products in such a way that normally everyone can implement smaller projects themselves. Please take a look at our installation instructions.
However, you can also hire any carpenter or craftsman to install the acoustic panels. You can also show them our instructions.
Unfortunately, we do not yet have any concrete partners for the installation yet.
Our customers usually carry out the installation themselves. Unfortunately, we do not offer a mounting service at the moment.
Otherwise, please ask a carpenter 🙂 .
We recommend using our installation instructions.
Yes, you can easily bend the panels around curved corners because of the flexible felt.
The picture frames can be stuck on with Tesa Foto Stripes, for example.
Alternatively, a small nail/screw can be drilled through the felt into the wall.
Since the acoustic felt is breathable, the panel can also be installed indoors on an “outside wall” without any problems.
Yes, the Akupanel can be mounted indoors on the front door.
One panel weights 12.5 kg. If necessary, the hinges would have to be replaced.
We officially recommend mounting the panel with 15 screws. From our own experience, we have found out that 6 screws (distributed) are also sufficient.
We created an installation page for you.

We recommend the use of Isover and Rockwool.
Any installation glue can be used to stick the Akupanel to the wall. Please note, that the panels or the wall may be damaged if the panels are removed at some point, e.g. when you move to a new home.
In general, we do not recommend its use in damp rooms. The core consists of an MDF board, which could maybe swell.
Nevertheless, some of our customers have used the acoustic panels in the bathroom and are very satisfied.
However, it should be made sure that the product does not come into direct contact with water.
Yes, you can easily mount hooks on the acoustic panels.
This depends on the thickness of the cables.
In general, the cables are simply positioned behind the panel, because the felt is very flexible and gives space at this point.

The Akupanel is made of a black acoustic felt (made of recycelt plastic). On top of that you find the slats with an MDF core and a veneer surface.

The panels in the current portfolio are for indoor use only. We are currently planning to develop a panel that can also be used outdoors. For this, we still have to do some research on the material and the texture. Therefore, there is no exact date for the release of this product, yet. When the time comes, we will share it on our social media channels.

The panels have standard dimensions of: 240cm (length) x 60cm (width) x 2.2cm (height).
Unfortunately, we are currently unable to offer individual customisation. Other dimensions can be cut to size with any saw. It is best to tape off the ends so that the wood does not splinter. We have made an installation video for this.
The felt can be cut to size with a cutter knife.
At the moment we can only offer the black and light grey felt for our panels, as shown in the shop. Other felt colours are planned for the future.
Yes, our acoustic felt is breathable.
We are currently working on the planning of a completely white Akupanel with white MDF and white felt. This will certainly take some time, so we cannot tell you exactly when we will include the complete white panel to our range.
We wrote an interesting blog article on this topic.
It can be read here.
Points 3 and 4 are particularly relevant.
Point 5 is our rule of thumb.
Approximately 25% of the floor area of the room should be covered with acoustic panels in order to achieve good acoustics.
Here we recommend mounting the panels on 45 mm thick battens and filling the space in between with mineral wool.
Then you get sound absorption class A, which is the best possible.
You are welcome to use the calculator on our product page for the calculation.
The used felt has fire protection class B1. This means that it is fire resistant. The panels can withstand heat (up to about 40/50 degrees). The panel can therefore not come into contact with fire.
The surfaces are in principle untreated.
They can be oiled with a wood oil (not cooking oil) and a sponge or towel.
The samples are approximately 29.5 x 13 cm.
The wood surfaces are untreated and will therefore change over time due to the effects of light. The light, classical oak, for example, turns typically a little yellowish.
The used felt has the fire protection class B1. This means that it is flame resistant. The panels can therefore absorb heat. If you want to cover your heating system with the panels, we would recommend cutting into the felt at these points to allow air exchange.
Unfortunately, the panels won’t stop sound from wandering from room to room (or floor to floor) – their main purpose is to absorb reverberation and prevent it from being reflected back into the room.
If you want to stop sound coming from a neighbour or a room, it needs good cavity insulation between walls or floors – and maybe more.
